Hi,
I'm thinking about purchasing one of these babies but was told that I need to get it unlocked by specialists to make it mutli regional at a cost of £30. Does anyone know otherwise? Is there a code I can use to unlock it for free by myself?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Machines made by the following manufacturers DO NOT have any ability to be hacked through the handset:
Panasonic
Sony
Toshiba
Pioneer
Sharp
you will have to have it modded to be multiregion
Can get it done in store (just experienced this wth the Sony Centre) and if you're spending enough you'll find you can haggle (like me and get it free!)
Once Sony store was prepared to do it for £30 but the one who said "Free" got my business
