Question:
I wanted to get a SCART RGB -> VGA converter so I could view Digibox on the Hitachi PMA400e plasma without resorting to s-video, or having to worry about a component (YUV) switcher/convertor and leads (cost a fortune).
However the few RGB - VGA converters I found don't seem to be compatible with the Hitachi plasmas as Horizontal frequency is 24hz - 106hz..most of the VGA converters are compatible with 15hz plasmas.
Strangely some sites like ivojo (http://www.ivojo.co.uk/hitachi-42pd3000.htm) give the JS converter from www.rgbtosvideo.com as an accessory to the Hitachis, yet Dr. John Sim says its not compatible with Hitachi plasmas.
The one at Lektropacks (http://www.lektropacks.co.uk/dept.asp?Frame=Bottom&dept_id=101) seems to be 15hz compatible also.
Anyway can anybody point me in the direction of a convertor that is compatible? Any other suggestions welcome (e.g. Digitbox+DVD player->Scart switcher > component convertor -> plasma .. however I'd rather use the component output of the DVD player)

Dan,
How did you eventually connect up your equipment? I've just got a 42PD3000 and am interested in using the split screen, which it seems will only allow different pictures when using a PC as one of the sources - I was therefore going to convert the 2nd source (DVD/Sky+/Video) to use the 15-pin VGA socket. Just not sure the best/easiest/cost effective way to do this, there seem to be a number of things that do this, I checked ou the links you posted, and also found some others, even maplins do a pricey lead - £59, which I don't hold much hope for!

Any advice would be welcome!

Ian.
