Question:
Would anyone who owns this set like to share their opinions on it please ?.
Good picture, reasonable sound. It seems to be quite good at getting a picture out of an awful aerial signal according to the guy who came to look at the poor tv picture I was getting. Only thing I don't like about it is that you can't assign an AV input to a numerical button on the remote, such as push '6' and bring up SCART 2 SVID input. Other than that I'm very happy with it.
This set does have the common problem with horizontal interference when you watch NTSC via RGB, but I've found it to be fairly minimal. My old 29" 4:3 set had this problem to a major degree and watching A Beautiful Mind had sections swamped with interference, but on this new set the interference is nothing like as bad. I have moved my dvd to the svid input though to see how comfortable I am with the picture quality - which seems good enough as I've not consciously noticed any degradation.
Basically, it's a good set with a couple of foibles but good AV quality.
Horizontal Interference ?.
Can't say I've heard of such a thing.
Didn't put it right - horizontal bands where the brightness is slightly higher than it should be.
Can't say I've ever seen anything like that before.
Is it unique to this set ?.
I think I know what this is as my 25" Panasonic 4:3 set had a fault very similar to this, if not identical - but it is all down to how people describe it because the manufacturers will never admit to the fault, hence no official name/description.
An example of what I think this is - based on my Panny 25" 4:3 set (TX25-MD4 iirc) experiences: Picture an image on your screen that is completely black, put a non-black object in the picture and you will seen 'horizontal bands' from the edge of that item to the edge of the screen that are of a slightly brighter shade of black/grey than the black background. These will move and change in size according to the object they are projected from.
On the Panny I believe it only ever happened via RGB, and was only noticeable on images where the background was of a solid dark colour. There was a tweak that supposedly fixed it but I never tried it as it mean opening the set up.

As I said - it's a common problem, and I've seen it on two sets.
