Question:
I was wondering if anyone can help, I have a Toshiba SD220 player which is supposed to be multi-region. However, when I play anything other than region 2 DVDs I can't get colour pictures.
What am I doing wrong????
is your TV able to display PAL 60/NTSC?
if not, hit setup on the player's remote, under the "picture" setting go down to PAL/Auto and change it to PAL :)
i'd guess that is the problem
oh also if you're using a scart connection to the TV you may need to try changiung the players output from "s-video" to "RGB" :)
i just spotted that on my setup (i was wondering why when i selected the RGB input from my TV it was showing in B&W, changing the setting on the player allowed the TV's RGB input to display in colour, but also turned the S-video to B&W) :)
As werewolf said, if your TV doesn't accept pure NTSC signals the image (when your DVD player outputs NTSC signals) will be black and white.
Most (if not all) R1 and R3 discs are NTSC.
Either switch your player to outputting NTSC as PAL, or get a TV that accepts NTSC signals.
