Sony KD32DX30 Widescreen TV - Any good?
Question:

It's my 30th next month and the missus is planning on getting me a widescreen telly.
I've got my eyes on the Sony KD32DX30 (not got too much brass to throw around) and was wondering if any of you would enlighten me on this set.
Cheers,
Ian

I have the previous model, a DX20. It is an excellent bit of kit and the models above are similar.
The only one problem is sometimes on TV broadcasts when there is a lot of red it can look saturated (almost flurescent) while watching programmes that are based in a studio. I think the studio lights may not help. This is when the watching digital TV in RGB mode and not composite. Over the years though, it hasn't bothered me too much. DVD in RGB has exceptional picture quality.
I would advise to go for the DX40 instead though. Being a newer model it has the latest EPG /menu system and I haven't seen the problem with red.

Thanks for the reply nwgarratt.
Unless I hear any horror stories about it, then I'll be getting it soon (it is the dx40, my typo when I put dx30!)
Can't wait!

My Father has the DX40.
I prefer the look of the DX40 compared to the DX20. But the DX20 has one thing better than the DX40 (for my purpose) which is has three scarts. The DX40 only has two. I wated to be able to connect a DVD, VCR and LD player straight to the TV.
Otherwise the only other difference is the design of the remote.
I don't know about the DX40, but with my one, I cannot watch a analogue station if recoding a digital one. The DX40 may be different. It needs the ability to switch from the digital to the analogue tuner by the remote.
The only way to go to a analogue station on my TV is to select the station number.
