Question:
I recently bought this player from Amazon and have been really impressed by the quality but I have one small problem.
When ever the image goes from dark to bright or vise versa the picture flickers and the sound cuts out for a breif second. Its as if the scart lead had been removed and then reatached quickly and I'm guessing its got something to do with the signal dropping out becuase the OSD of my tv comes up telling me ive switched to the AV channel whenever it happens.
Now ive noticed theres alot of you here who seem to have this unit and was wondering if anyone had encountered the same problem and if you did were you able to resolve the problem and if not did you get it replaced and if so did the new one fix the problem?
I just dont know if i cba to go through the hassle of sending it back if its going to have the same problem becuase I have yet to experiance it happening during the movie playback the closest its come to doing during a movie is on the Promo trailer attached at the start of "fast and the Furious" r1. The rest have been at the start of extras or on the menu transitions
Oh and for the record its doing it on both r1 and r2 discs
Wakey, I've posted this problem a couple of times too. I replaced mine today with another 220e and it's still the same problem. Tomorrow I return it for good (unfortunately) and i will be replacing it with another DVd player. Dunno which one yet.
I haven't tested all my DVDs yet, but it's very noticeable on my LotR and Extended versions during the fireworks scene.
One small problem can make a lot of difference and although i am absolutely astounded by the quality, unfortunately, i don't think i'll be keeping this tosh.
edit: both my LotR are R2. my R1 Final Fantasy has the same flicker problem about 3 minutes into the film
I cant actually say Ive noticed it on LotR extended edition....as I said i havent seen it happen during a movie yet. But will go watch LotR again to check.
it's the scene where the dragon firework is approaching the screen, then changes to the long wide shot of the sky as the dragon comes back down
I've just watched the scene in question on LOTR and don't seem to notice anything wrong with the picture.
I got my Tosh from BEDirect just b4 xmas.
Yeah I checked the scene out again and it didnt flicker
I guess it must be a dodgy batch then. I'm still not happy with mine, and I will be returning it today. If it's the batch, there's no point in me replacing it yet again.
Cheers for checking it out though.
