I have the 750u. Anyone know how to get the optical connection working. It was de-activated by Sony at Sky's orders.

Have a look here (http://www.satcomm20.co.uk/sonypage.htm) it appears that the optical connection does work although the dolby digital 5.1 software will not be downloaded to the sony box.
Also see here (http://www.gadget.easynet.co.uk/SonyVTXS750U.htm) on updating your software version.

Edit: after checking around it looks like the optical connection does work but the hardware in the Sony box is not capable of outputting DD 5.1.
