Question:
Have ordered this due to difficulty/non availability of the DRU500(internal).
I am assuming that these drives must share the same spec and also disc compatability.
I am looking for the cheapest general purpose DVD-R discs that will be happily read/written to by this drive.
Anyone any experience with this drive or with the Internal ?.
Any disc recommendations appreciated.

Good luck with your external drive mate, But I will be waiting for the internal model as paying an excess of over £60 is quite alarming. Just to help I rang two suppliers up last week and they both said stocks of this drive were expected this week..:eek:
We shall see..:| I would like to bet any drives arriving this week will only get rid of the back-orders..:oh-hum:
All the suppliers I have contacted said that the supplies expected would not even fill the backorders, so ..............
Being impatient about such things I just thought I may as well get the external and avoid the hassle of contacting numerous suppliers or sitting on their lists etc etc.
Good luck with anyone out there still waiting, and for those who have either drive, LMK what you think of it (including media recommendations).
