sony kv-32fx66 television - 100hz
Question:

can anyone tell me if u can change from 100hz to 50 hz on this tv , if so how 2 to do it.i am told that if u watch the footie on 50 hz it is far better quality. the picture on 100hz seems quite bad.cheers

I have the KV32FX60U which is a couple of models earlier than your set.
Mine has three picture settings 'Normal', 'Digital' + and 'advanced'
I find with 'advanced' I get digital artifacts around fast moving objects because the TV is doing motion interpolation.
Setting it to 'Digital' gives the best picture with none of the nastiness attributed to 100Hz which is actually caused by digital signal processing.

Thanks for the info Andy.My tv has three picture adjustments: LIVE - for live broadcast programmes.
PERSONAL-for individual settings.
MOVIE - for movies.
Is this the same menu as yours Andy?.I have already tried LIVE and it is not too good for the footie.Cheers

Answers:

No, not the colour contrast settings (called "Picture Mode"), there's another setting further down the list on the same menu called "Digital Mode" which has these options.
This site has details about my set and its replacement model might be of use to you.

EDIT - Oh, I see you've aleady posted there :)

I'll probably get KV-32FX66 someday this week and thanks Andymc for your site! :) Good thing i dont have to suffer alone if the damn thing turns out to be a "monday piece".
I'll visit your forums when i'll get it and start tuning it. Good thing i can test it for 2 weeks before paying a dime for it and then return or buy it.
I've had a KV-29C3E for a couple of years now and that is very nice telly. Picture with DVD is very good.
