1. The Sony sky Digital box has an optical output for the sound. I have been told that this is not wired up...Is this correct or has anyone out there connected it to their amp via this connection.
2. Is there a high quality Scart switching box with RGB capabilities and which automatically switches channels (Active)??

This only works on Sky+.

It will only output DD5.1 on the Sky+ box. However I believe that it works on the normal Sky decoder, but only outputs Prologic.

which you can get from the phonos anyway.



I also have the Sony 760 box and it is frustrating the optical out is disabled for 5.1
This is because it is not in the spec for a standard digibox (the Sony is unusal in having it) and Sky want to make more money out of you by encouraging you to get Sky+ for the 5.1
