Question:
IO have a 28 inch sony tv that i recently bought. The tv seeems to keep chainging aspect ratio (ie from wide to zoom) when i am watching tv or dvds. My mate has the same telly and he says that his does it also sometimes. Is there any way that i can force the tv to stop doing this as it is really annoying!

You might be able to force it to stay in 16:9 mode by selecting that from the menu (check the manual). However the switching is what it is meant to do on TV and DVD menus (though not during the DVD film) as somethings are 16:9 and others aren't.
i select mode that i want and it still flicks from one ratio to the other. wonder if anyone who has this tv has the same problem?
Don't Sony's have a smart mode where they adjust according to the amount of black they sense on the screen. My mates Wega has this. It needs to be disabled...
In the menu there is an option (off the top of my head its in the vision, advanced option) which is called something like auto-switch - just set that to off and it won't keep changing aspect ratio. If you can't find the menu option, its mentioned in the manual somewhere.
