Question:
LOOK AT MY 2ND REPLY FOR TRIVIAL ATTRIBUTE.
I'm looking to buy a DVD, and noticed the DAVS400 Sony Home Cinema System (http://212.250.57.233/pro_runproducts.asp?pid=1282&ShowRange=Yes&Percentage=0&New=No&Cat=Home+Entertainment&subCat=Integrated+HiFi%2FDVD+System&Ire=&CatID=9&sProdName=DAVS400) or @Comet. (http://www.comet.co.uk/comet/html/cache/828369.html) Getting it online for 350 doesn't seem too bad of a deal, or does it? It says that the only form of video output is s-video. Is this an advantage, or disadvantage over SCART? also, how would i go about hooking this up to my new Sony KV32FQ75(S) (http://www.comet.co.uk/comet/html/cache/616306.html) or @Sony (w/ spec) (http://212.250.57.233/pro_runproducts.asp?pid=805&ShowRange=Yes&Percentage=15&New=No&Cat=tv&subCat=Analogue+Widescreen+16%3A9&Ire=&CatID=1&sProdName=KV32FQ75(S)) , as i believe that the svideo is only on the front and if possible, i'd like to keep the front looking nice without wires popping out everywhere. (Note: I've just found that my TV has 3 SCARTs, which should work perfectly for my video, DvD and Sky. Have heard problems about svideo->scart cords though...)
Any suggestions and/or comments would be welcomed
Thanks
@sh
yeah dude
ive got this set up and a davs 800
you need to get svideo to scart cable ,cost me 40 quid ! from comet ,monster cable -good enough picture on my sony kv32ds60, they say true rgb is better, probably is but with this cable its pretty damn good, incidentally did your dav come with a grey or green remote control, (grey is not as attractive).
i initially used the yellow composite to scart adapter,picture was crap and grainy!
at least the davs 400 has optical input for x-box 5.1, i have mine in my bedroom at its more than adequate!
:)
composite being the red white and yellow adaptors, yea? i just moved from america and there they're called RCA adaptors. thanks for the input. i haven't got it, i am getting it soon though. just another reference question. does satellite mean that the speakers are wireless, or that they're small??
cheers for the help
@sh
also, will this be a decent system for cd's etc? I was attracted to it because for 1, the rest of my stuff is silver sony, and 2, it said it had sacd. Is SACD going to take off in the near future, or is as doomed as mini disc?
PROBLEM: Some places say that the Sony DAVS400 has
- a SCART output, no S-Video output
- a S-Video output, no SCART output
- SCART output, S-Video output
- No output, except Composite
If any has, or knows the true answer, it would be appreciated....
