Question:
A mate of mine was off to buy the sony 700 from richer sounds today but the salesman told him he'dbe much better off spending his money on the yamaha 520.
now he's all confused, i'd recommended the sony to him but i don't know anything about the yamaha. is t just salesman BS or is the yamaha a quality player?
I have the Sony and it is great. Don't forget that you are getting a £400 player for under £200, and that the SACD capability is very handy, even if only for the future.
I have the Sony player too and it is rather good for the money. Haven't seen a review of the Yamaha player, but normaly they do tend to make quite good quality A/V stuff.
